Hunza Cable Joint Kit

Hunza Cable Joint Kit

The Hunza Cable Joint Kit is designed to join two separate cables together using crimp sleeves and an adhesive heat shrink. A Cable Joint Kit includes two yellow 6mm crimp sleeves and a 150mm long 12/4 black adhesive heat shrink. An essential accessory to ensure secure cable connections.

Hunza recommend the use of Cable Joint Kits on all low voltage cable connections. If applied correctly, it will create a water-tight seal protecting the Hunza outdoor lighting luminaire from water ingress.

You will need a heat gun (paint stripper gun) to shrink the sheath down. When applying the heat you need to see the glue coming out around the edges. Once both ends have glue around the edges this joint will be sealed. You have to be careful not to overheat the sheath as it will burn. These joints are very reliable if installed correctly however if you are installing into a very boggy area you should consider using a IP67 junction box filled with resin.

Heat-Shrink sheath and 2 Through-Crimps are only suitable for a 2-cable connection. Where an underground 3-ways connection is required, it is essential to utilise a IP67 enclosure and glands, alternatively this can be achieved by a junction box and a hard setting resin.
